It appears that they have a sweet tooth. Pineapple on pizza was taboo back in the day in NY. Ketchup on pasta is another no no. It is insulting to Italians. I loved ketchup when I was a kid, but putting it on scrambled eggs was my limit. I also noticed that many Colombians cannot handle spicy foods.

I think the lack of questions may be cultural. It can be seen as being a "metiche" in Latin America if you ask too many questions
